Madrasapattinam

Singara Chennai….The word describes it all..I had been with his metro guy for 21 years.. A perfect place in India where u get everything from A to Z…T Nagar, Parrys corner, luz, pondy bazar, pycroft road etc are some of the shopping paradises which u cannot afford to miss...Chennai  houses world’s second longest beach stretching from war memorial to foreshore estate…Central railway station, Napier bridge,  Ripon building, Victoria public hall, Senate hall at University of Madras, Egmore Museum,  bharat insurance building (mount road), Fort St George hall etc  are some of the heritage building’s built during the British colonial rule.

The places of worship in Chennai to name a very few places includes the famous Parthasarathy temple built during the 8th AD, the Kapaleeshwar  temple built during 7th century CE, Santhome church near beach and the Big Mosque in Triplicane… I had been to almost all these places.. These are some of the perfect tourist spots for foreigners to know about the culture and heritage of Tamilnadu as well as India..

To my knowledge chennai is ranked second in infrastructure next to Mumbai…It is well connected by rail road, air, sea and can be almost accessed at every corner of the city... The city has vibrant young students who can be spotted out mostly in the footboard’s of buses & trains and in shopping malls…Spenzer plaza, citi centre, ampa sky walk, express avenue, sathyam cinemas, bessi beach are some of the perfect places to hangout with your buddies…

Basically the metro of Chennai has been demarcated as south & north the demarcating line being the mount road…Areas towards the south has been well developed and more affluent persons reside there including top government officials, industrialists, business men, bureaucrats etc..While the north has been developed haphazardly and is more labour intensive…Still there is more scope for improvement…

Right from the beginning Chennai houses a hub of automotive activities including manufacture of cars, bikes, commercial vehicles, tractors and a host of auto components…Another major activity is the manufacture of railway coaches at Integral Coach Factory which is the largest coach factory in the world and...Chennai is also called as Detroit of India….

Of late there has been deterioration of law & order including anti social elements,  harassment by rowdies and auto drivers…The city needs lot of improvement in terms of garbage clearance, upkeep of roads, drainage system and above all tight vigil by police…Comparitively the city has got pleasant memories to live peacefully without any religious clashes…

I’m a residence of this city with pleasant memories which cannot be described everything here…I feel proud to be a part of Chennai and I will always cherish living here wherever I will be..

Regards,
Vijay Prasad
